NASCAR Cup Series, Würth 400 · Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth · May 3, 2026
Chase Elliott won a four-lap shootout under clear skies and 81-degree temperatures in Fort Worth, holding off Denny Hamlin by 0.407 seconds for his second win of 2026. It was the earliest point in any season that Elliott has had multiple wins.
Carson Hocevar won the pole at 191.340 mph, and Erik Jones won Stage 1 by staying out on strategy. Elliott didn’t lead a lap until lap 152, but once in front he controlled the race, winning Stage 2 and leading a race-high 87 laps. His pit crew helped, turning in its fastest stops of the season.
A caution with four laps to go bunched up the field for a final restart, but Elliott pulled away from Hamlin to the checkered flag. Alex Bowman finished third, his best result of the season, with Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher completing the top five. Earlier, Kyle Larson, William Byron, and Corey Heim each spun.
